About the Role

Ramachandra College of Engineering (RCEE) is looking for an experienced Librarian to lead and manage its library services. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in Library and Information Science along with hands-on experience running a modern, technology-enabled academic library.

You will be responsible for library operations, digital resource management, and supporting the research and learning needs of students and faculty, while also contributing to NBA/NAAC accreditation requirements related to library infrastructure and usage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day library operations, including acquisitions, cataloguing, and circulation.
  • Manage digital library resources, e-journals, e-books, and online databases (e.g., DELNET, INFLIBNET/N-LIST).
  • Support faculty and students in accessing research material, journals, and reference resources.
  • Maintain and enhance the library management system and automation tools.
  • Prepare library-related documentation and statistics for NBA/NAAC accreditation and audits.
  • Plan and manage the library budget, procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Organize awareness sessions/workshops on library resources, plagiarism tools, and research databases.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, security, and upkeep of library infrastructure and collections.
  • Coordinate with academic departments to align library resources with curriculum and research needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from a reputed and recognized university.
  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc./M.L.I.Sc.) with a good academic record.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an academic or engineering college library.
  • Sound knowledge of library automation software, digital repositories, and online research databases.
  • Familiarity with NBA/NAAC library documentation and accreditation requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience as Librarian/Deputy Librarian in an NBA/NAAC accredited engineering institution.
  • Exposure to library automation platforms, RFID-based systems, and digital repository management.
  • Published work or research contributions in Library and Information Science.
  • Experience coordinating with faculty on research support services, including plagiarism-checking tools.
  • Strong communication skills with a service-oriented, student-friendly approach.
