Frequently Asked Questions

PRAKALP 2026 is open to all UG and PG students from recognised engineering and management institutions across India. Teams must consist of 4 – 5 members, and all team members must be enrolled at the same institution.
The Project Expo is a showcase of pre-built projects across 10 engineering domains — you bring your working prototype or software, set up a demo stall, and present it to judges. The Hackathon is a 24-hour on-site coding sprint where you build a solution from scratch based on given themes, with mentor guidance and iterative rounds.
A team can register for either the Project Expo or the Hackathon. Each team may submit only one project. If you have separate teams, each team can register for a different event individually.
Project Expo: ₹500 (Single/Duo, 1–2 members) or ₹200 per person (teams of 3–5).
Hackathon: ₹1,000 (Single/Duo, 1–2 members) or ₹500 per person (teams of 3–5).
Visitors: ₹50 (online) or ₹100 (spot registration).
Yes! Accommodation is provided for all hackathon participants. Girls will be accommodated in the Girls Hostel, and boys will be provided beds in Shastra Block classrooms. Food, snacks, and refreshments are included.
All project submissions are evaluated by a Review Committee. Projects must score a minimum of 60/100 to qualify. A maximum of 3 projects per college are selected across both Hardware and Software tracks, subject to the overall cap of 100 Expo slots.
Projects are classified into two tracks:
Hardware Track: Physical prototypes, embedded systems, IoT devices, robotics, circuits, and sensor-based projects.
Software Track: Applications, web/mobile platforms, AI/ML models, data dashboards, simulations, and algorithm-based solutions.
Three themes are confirmed: Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security, and Generative AI / Agentic AI. The 4th domain will be announced soon. Pre-hackathon workshops will be conducted for each theme.
The registration deadline is March 22, 2026. Payments are collected during registration. Final confirmations will be sent by March 28, 2026.
For the Project Expo, 10 judges (5 per track) rotate through stalls and evaluate projects via Q&A and live demo assessment. For the Hackathon, teams go through 4 rounds — from idea submission to final pitch with live Q&A before judges. Winners are determined based on scores from the evaluation sheets.
